APOENA - 1st place at De La Luz - Guatemala 2025

At the confluence of myth and matter, "Apoena" reveals itself as a visual journey through the ancestral worldviews of the Americas. The work begins in the Highlands of Guatemala and expands to the indigenous territories
of Brazil, interweaving symbols, beliefs, and memories that survive in the body of the earth and in the language of dreams. Mythical figures such as Gucumatz and the Jiboia snake Woman symbolize creation and its metamorphosis andexpress spiritual forces that still live on in the practices and resistance of indigenous peoples.
This work features real footage and audio captured by me on indigenous lands in the Amazon.
